How we handle your data — or rather, how we don't.
Last updated: March 2026The Anagrind collects no personal data whatsoever. Everything you do in the app — your clue boards, saved crosswords, purchase status — stays entirely on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no way to identify you. This policy exists because Apple requires one, not because we have anything meaningful to disclose.

The Anagrind does not collect, store, transmit or process any personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, location, or any other identifying information. There is no account creation, no login, and no user profile of any kind.
The only data The Anagrind stores is the data you create — your clue boards, crossword sessions, and solving progress. This data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms and never leaves your device.
You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device.
The Anagrind offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade via Apple's in-app purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store or process any payment information. Your purchase is managed through your Apple ID and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your purchase status is verified locally on your device via Apple's StoreKit framework. We have no record of whether you have purchased the Pro upgrade.
No analytics tools or SDKs are included in The Anagrind.
No crash reporting services that transmit data to third parties.
No advertising networks or tracking pixels of any kind.
No use of device identifiers, advertising IDs or fingerprinting.
Apple may collect anonymised, aggregated usage data through the App Store and iOS platform itself. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not within our control.
The Anagrind does not integrate with any third party services, APIs, or SDKs other than Apple's own iOS frameworks (StoreKit for purchases, standard iOS storage for local data). No data is shared with any third party under any circumstances.
The Anagrind is rated 4+ on the App Store and is appropriate for all ages. Since we collect no personal data from anyone, there are no special provisions required for users under 13. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations.
If we ever change how The Anagrind handles data — which would require a significant change to the app's architecture — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Given the nature of this app, we do not anticipate any meaningful changes to this policy.
